Cyber security is how organizations (also individuals) reduce the risk of cyber attacks.

More broadly, cyber security can be defined as collective methods, technologies, and processes that help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and connectivity of computer systems, networks and data, against cyber-attacks or unauthorized access.

The attacks in recent years have been on systems, data, and processes that are critical to an organization’s operations or its business model.

Cyber security’s core function is to protect all organizational assets from both external and internal threats as well as business disruptions.
